Deepen Your Relationship with God

“Equipping people to experience God’s Presence through worship and truth.”

The Personal Growth Area is committed to helping people become The Aroma of Christ by experiencing God’s Presence through worship and truth. We desire to give people a space to know what it means to follow Jesus as they abide in His presence. This happens as we meet corporately together during Sunday services, and grow in our personal spiritual lives through prayer, Scripture, and worship. The Personal Growth Area is committed to provide community times of worship and Spiritual teaching as well as equipping people to grow in their own personal spiritual lives.

Experience the Body of Christ

“Going deep with God; Going deep with people.”

The Community Growth Department includes small groups and discipleship training. We strive to create to stay true to our vision of going deep with God and other people by providing opportunities for people to read scripture and pray together- growing closer to God and one another.

We have English, Chinese, and Bilingual Small Groups. If you are interested in joining a small group or being discipled, please contact Cloud.

Live on Mission

“Going to the world to share the love of God by faith in Christ.”

Missional Growth is an area where we are spreading the Aroma of Christ by faith. We want to train disciples and raise up leaders to go out from the church to plant seeds in people’s hearts. We want to encounter God’s never falling love by walking among the people who are poor in the spirits to show them the light and the truth from the Kingdom with our faith and the Holy Spirit.

The Missional Growth Area includes activities like Action for Jesus, an opportunity to be the hands and feet of Christ in our community, and Coffee Talk, a English class hosted in the Coffee Shop every Friday evening. Come join us on Mission!

We want to be open, honest and transparent about church finances at Aroma.
This section is for information about Aroma’s belief’s about giving, vision, needs, and reporting.

We believe it’s important for the church to know some specific ways in which we desire to spend the money God provides for us through you. In addition to following out the vision of Aroma, we trust that God will lead us faithfully as we allocate church resources to help in some of the following ways:

  •  Assisting poeple in need in our community.
  • Facilitating community growth.
  • Supporting the national Christian and Missionary Alliance church (TACU) as they support and expand to reach more people in Taiwan and beyond.

As these needs are met, we will be sharing with the church on a monthly and quarterly basis.

As The Aroma learns about the Kingdom value of living generously, we believe our church finances will come in line with a budget that looks similar to the charts outlined below.  Currently (as of April 2015), we have average attendance of about 50 people. If each of those people tithed an average starting income in Taiwan ($30,000), we would have about $150,000NT per month.  Our current average is around $70,000 per month. As such, we spend the money like this:

The Bible talks about money more than a lot of other things (here’s a PDF). We believe it’s important to start with a solid foundation of understanding why giving is so important to God. Here are a few verses to get you started.

  •  God isn’t poor (Psalm 50:10)
  • God is generous (Philippians 4:19)
  • God promises to provide for us (Matthew 6:33)
  • The idea of tithing, or giving 10%, is in the Old and New Testament (Malachi 3:8-12, Luke 18:12, Hebrews 7:1-10)
  • More than a 10% rule, God invites us to be generous “beyond our means” (2 Corinthians 8:3-4)

At The Aroma Church, our desire is to utilize strategies like Business as Mission to help people to know God’s love in a safe way (through relationships) while also being good stewards of the resources God has given us.  Our desire is to be “The Aroma” (2 Corinthians 2:15) as we grow personally, grow in community, and grow on mission. Specifically, this means the following:

  • We will provide spaces for large and small groups to meet to discuss God, His Word, and encounter Him.
  • We will provide opportunities to access intimate community and grow together.
  • We will provide chances for people to receive training, equipping, and preparation to serve Jesus intentionally beyond the four walls of the church.
  • We will raise up leaders to go out.
  • We will plant new churches using Business as Mission models.

We envision thousands of people meeting Jesus through the ministries of The Aroma.

Prayer @ The Aroma!

Prayer is just as simple as conversing with God. And it’s just as powerful and transformative as you’d imagine conversing with the Almighty God is. At Aroma, we emphasize the importance of a prayer life that is rooted in personal prayer, prayer as a community, and prayer that influences the mission that the Lord has called us to. Andrew Murray says, “We must begin to believe that God, in the mystery of prayer, has entrusted us with a force that can move the Heavenly world, and can bring its power down to earth.” We hope Aroma Church can be a place where you learn about prayer, participate in prayer and see the results of prayer on a daily basis. For more information, or to request prayer, please email us.

Hi! My name is Alexa! I am responsible for leading the worship team in both large and small group settings. Five years ago (2012) I joined the worship team, mainly because of my strong desire to gain a more intimate relationship with God. In those five years of being on the worship team, the call to musical worship became more and more clear to me. Consequently, two years ago I studied at a worship school to prepare myself for a more active role in worship ministry.

I really look up the worship leaders, Chris Quilala and Misty Edwards. So, when I have free time, you will often find me on YouTube or the iTunes Store listening to their’s and other’s music, or worshiping with a guitar, piano, or drum. I pray for many opportunities to share what I have learned at worship school and through my past expereinces worshiping God. If you have any questions related to The Aroma’s worship team, please do not hesitate to ask!
